Privacy Policy

These policies apply to the Phone Savvy course delivered in Kajabi.

1. Who we are

Mothering Girls (“we”, “us”). Contact: fiona@motheringgirls.com.
This policy explains how we handle personal data when you purchase and participate in Phone Savvy (sales site on Squarespace; course hosted in Kajabi).

2. What we collect

  • Account & purchase data: name, email, order details. Payments are processed by Stripe/PayPal - we don’t store card numbers.

  • Course data (Kajabi): login/email, module completion, timestamps, and optional uploads you choose to submit (e.g., photos, videos, reflections, forms).

  • Communications: emails/support requests, your marketing preferences.

  • Technical/usage data (site): IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, and cookies (see Cookies below).

2. Why we collect it (and legal bases)

  • We rely on the legal bases of contract, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligation as defined under the EU GDPR.

  • Deliver the course (create your account, track progress, provide certificates): contract.

  • Handle support & safety (troubleshoot, prevent fraud/abuse, secure systems): legitimate interests.

  • Optional uploads for activities: contract/legitimate interests to run the course; if we ever use uploads beyond facilitation, we’ll ask for separate consent.

  • Marketing emails (tips, updates, offers): We never add you to marketing lists without consent, and unsubscribing won’t affect your access to the course.

  • Legal compliance (tax/audit, respond to lawful requests): legal obligation.

3. Children’s data

Phone Savvy is parent-led. We do not create child accounts. Any child participation is under parent supervision. Uploads are optional and controlled by the parent account. Do not share sensitive child information in uploads.

4. Sharing with processors (no selling)

We use trusted service providers to run the program:

  • Website: Squarespace

  • Course host: Kajabi

  • Payments: Stripe and/or PayPal

  • Email: Squarespace

  • Productivity/Storage: Google Drive
    They process data on our instructions and implement security measures. We don’t sell personal data.

5) International transfers

If data is transferred outside your country/region, we use approved safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.

6) Retention

  • Account & course progress: up to 24 months after purchase (to support re-access and certificates).

  • Optional uploads: up to 12 months, then permanently deleted.
    You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Your rights).

7) Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege admin access.

8) Your rights (GDPR/UK GDPR)

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time. To exercise your data protection rights or ask questions about this policy, contact: fiona@motheringgirls.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9) Cookies & analytics (website)

Our Squarespace site uses essential cookies to operate and may use analytics to improve the site. Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent, where applicable. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any consent tools we provide. We display a cookie consent banner where required and honour your choices before setting any non-essential cookies.

10) Updates

We may update this policy and will post the new effective date here.
